Senior Procurement Advisor

The Opportunity

Are you a senior procurement professional who thrives on delivering end-to-end results? We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Advisor on a contract basis through to June 2026.

This role is a blend of high-level strategy and "hands-on" delivery. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring procurement activities are robust, compliant, and deliver genuine value.

What you will do

As a key member of the team, you will lead complex procurement activities and act as a trusted advisor. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Expert Guidance: Providing high-quality advice to ensure all activities strictly adhere to laws, regulations, and government policies.

• End-to-End Delivery: Taking complete ownership of full tender processes and overseeing the drafting, review, and monitoring of contracts.

• Strategic Support: Partnering with the Procurement Lead to uplift procurement maturity across the entire organisation.

• Relationship Management: Building proactive, trusted relationships with both internal stakeholder and external suppliers to ensure favourable outcomes.

• The Go-To Expert: Serving as the first point of contact for all business-as-usual (BAU) procurement activities.

What you will bring

We are looking for a procurement professional who can hit the ground running. You will have:

• Government Expertise: Senior-level procurement experience within a NZ Government organisation, including leading end-to-end processes.

• Regulatory Knowledge: A deep, current understanding of the New Zealand Government Procurement Rules

• Negotiation Flair: Proven ability to use your influencing skills to secure the best possible results.

• Analytical Rigour: A detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Communication Excellence: The ability to facilitate, influence, and build credibility across all levels of an organisation.

• Resilience: The confidence to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and take full ownership.
